Responsible for all clerical duties and intake required for the efficient and effective provision of outpatient alcohol and drug treatment services

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations and/or Counselor

FLSA: Non-exempt


Job Responsibilities:
1.) Responsible to the Director of Operations and/ or counselor.
2.) Responsible for greeting clients, and notifying clinicians of the clients’ arrival.
3.) Responsible for answering telephones, directing the calls appropriately, and taking intake information.
4.) Responsible for scheduling clients’ appointments, typing ROI letters, calling clients to remind them of appointments.
5.) Receptionist will create client charts, file client paperwork, other office duties, and communicate with referral sources
6.) Responsible for admissions and completing assessment in computer database.
7.) Responsible for administering drug screens, testing, reporting, and documenting results.
8.) Receptionist will perform other clerical duties and light cleaning duties as directed.
9.) Receptionist will perform other duties as assigned within the scope of support staff duties.

Education and/or Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent, BA or Master’s degree preferred.

Training
Experience in an alcohol and drug treatment working environment and/or recovery experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain CPR/ First Aid Training.
• Proficiency in computer office skills (PC Based Programs such as Word, Excel), telephone skills, and interpersonal skills as evidenced through training and experience.

Organization/Attention to Detail - must demonstrate attention to detail; must keep records up to date and in compliance with federal, state and local requirements. Must be efficient and productive. Completes reports and maintains records accurately and on time.

Medical Assessment Skills - must be able to quickly and accurately determine medical needs in cases of injury or illness.

Judgment/Decision-Making - must be able to interpret existing policy and procedures and use judgment when applying policy to new or unusual circumstances. Must demonstrate “common sense.”

Independence - is able to function successfully without much supervision.

Team Player - cooperates with staff members toward mutual job accomplishment.
